Teopista Kizza

Teopista Kizza has more than 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and delivering programs focused on policy analysis, democracy, human rights, gender literacy, and leadership development. At AYDL, Teopista serves as the organization’s technical lead on local governance and youth engagement advising on youth-specific program design and other national youth initiatives. She also advances the youth interests through the technical oversight of the National Youth Manifesto which is a youth policy engagement framework with the government.

Formerly, she worked as a Workshop Team Leader for the Parliamentary Scorecard Project under the Africa Leadership Institute (AFLI).

Teo (as she popularly known) is an Alumnus of the US government exchange program dubbed- the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). She is also the Secretary of the CSO Consortium on Prevention and Countering Violent Extremism (CiSCAVE) and an Administrator at Victory Covenant Ministries. Teo is also the National Female Youth Coordinator for the Born Again Faith under the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU)’s Youth Interfaith Network. She is also a founder member of Visionary Lady Foundation, a CBO that advances the rights of women and girls. Teo also serves on the Board of Governors (BoG) of St. Noa Mawaggali Senior Secondary School in Bwikwe District; as well as Board of Directors of Youth Line Forum (YLF), Creations Forum Africa (CFA) based in Kasese, and the Center for Climate Accountability and Transportation (CCAT).

Teo received a Bachelors in Mass Communication from Makerere University Kampala, and a Master's in Local Government & Human Rights from Uganda Martyrs University. She also has several certificates in Leadership, Gender mainstreaming, and Strategic Management.
